Things Plastic is Made Into After Recycling

When you recycle a plastic bottle, perhaps what that bottle will go on to become never crosses your mind. On the other hand, like thousands of curious individuals across the planet, maybe you’re interested in exactly what your recycling is doing to help the earth. Plastic is not bio-degradable, and therefore must become other things. While some bottles simply become other bottles, recycled plastics can be used to create some truly amazing (and unexpected) things after the process is complete, such as:

  • Fabric that makes up part of the clothing you wear every day.
  • Fibers found in upholstery and carpeting in the average home.
  • Lawn furniture that allows family members to gather and bond at a get-together.
  •  Plastic lumber that’s becoming the new standard in many construction sites.
  • Curbs alongside the road.
  • Benches found in parks across the world or even in your own back yard.
  • Truck cargo liners that help heavy lifters to get the job done.
  • Recycling containers, so you can start the process all over again.

While each of these items may seem a bit small in the grand scheme of things, society would not exist as it currently is without each and every one of these additions. To learn more about plastic recycling in San Jose, visit this website.
